Neighborhood Cleanup – MAY 18th!
We are gearing up for our neighborhood cleanup day. On Saturday, May 18th, 9am-2pm, you can take your items (see list below) to Hertz Equipment Rental, 56th and Center (map).
ITEMS ACCEPTED: large items not picked up in the weekly garbage pickup, such as old mattresses, furniture, lamps, small amounts of remodeling or demolition debris. Vouchers will be available to take large amounts of branches or brush to a recycling or disposal facility.
If you have an old bicycle someone from the Community Bike Shop will be there to take it.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: rocks or concrete, liquids or toxic substances, large appliances, tires on or off rims.
WHAT ABOUT APPLIANCES?: On the day of the cleanup appliances can be taken to the city sewer maintenance site at 6880 Q Street.
WHAT ABOUT TIRES?: Tires can go to St. Adalbert’s Church south parking lot at 31st and Wright St.
CAN I VOLUNTEER?: Anyone wishing to volunteer on the day of the cleanup may contact Tim Potter at 402-830-5694. Volunteering involves being present at the dropoff location for one-hour slots. No heavy lifting required.
